Next Yankee Great? Yu Darvish
May 13th, 2008 by Sam
Here is my perennial hat tip to Yankee Baseball. ESPN did a great video on Japanese baseball. Take a look. One thing to note. The kids there practice little league 7 hours a day twice a week all year round (rain, shine, or snow!).
As for Yu Darvish, the 21 year old Japanese phenom? The Yanks will not be outbid on him this time around.

That’s cool. Money has not been the answer ever since they stole Giambi from the A’s
And is this kid really worth it? I have never seen more hype tha what Dice-K received his 1st year. Has anyone seen the supposed gyro ball? Was he really worth the $75M for just the talking fees.
I hope the Yanks do go after him … I like the talk out of Yankees ownership these days (http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3395358)
The Yankees might have money, but they lost passion a long time ago.
Strange … never knew “perennial” was a synonym for “continual” or “perpetual” … heh heh
Sam,
This is your cousin, Pil Hwan. I didn’t know you were into baseball so much. I used to work for Scott Boras so I did help out on Arod deals. Anyways, Yu Darvish is worth the money. I really believe this guy can be as good as Daisuke. But I had heard that he loves the lifestyle in Japan so he might not be interested to come to US. God bless you and I am sorry that you are a Yankee Fan. GO DODGERS!!!
