i have to admit, the church i was at back in dc really shaped and influenced the men at our church from reading this book-unfortunately in a negative way. because they didn't believe in dating, they always posited (that is, the men) they were "hanging out" with girls in group situations, and never committed to any one girl, because they wanted to keep their options open, and not date one person. the men at my church were very non-committal, partially because of the way they misinterpreted the book, and mainly because we live in a non-committal, "keeping our options open" society. it was pretty sad, and i hear it's still that way still....

I never read I Kissed Dating Goodbye but I did read Boy Met Girl and is probably the main reason I'm married to my wife today - Well, that and God's sovereign hand working in my life.
