Free Is Not So Good?

Huh?

There are some in the blogosphere who don’t fully agree with DGM’s policy of giving away everything for free. Now I don’t think it is a sin to charge, but I do think it CAN be a sin to charge, depending on the true heart motivations of the individuals involved. Of course, only the Lord knows the heart. But I really do fail to see how anyone could believe that to give away things for free could be anything but a blessing and a Christ-honoring act.

Matt of Desiring God blog gives 7 objections why people believe giving away things for free can be a detriment to ministry. He answers those objections graciously and I believe cogently. My question to those who still think that what DGM is doing with its ministry and free content is still the same as my opening question…

Huh?
