The Disruptive Child and Childcare
Mar 28th, 2007 by admin
As more and more families live on a double income, more and more children end up in child care. A friend of mine sent me this CNN article that reports: “The more time that children spent in child care, the more likely their sixth-grade teachers were to report problem behavior.” It’s a subject that most people do not want to address but it’s one that needs to be addressed. It makes sense from a biblical perspective. If someone other than parents care for a child more than the parents themselves, there will be an increase in distance from child to parent, there will be a lack of discipline (child care workers cannot enforce discipline), and there will be a lack of spiritual guidance (that parents are mandated to provide).
