Birthday Bounceback
Sep 3rd, 2006 by admin

Yesterday was my 37th birthday. In the morning, my kids came and jumped on top of me and wished me a Happy Birthday. And then they gave me this as a gift. They were coupons that allowed me to do the following things:
1. I could cash in my coupon to play soccer with them.
2. They would make breakfast for me some time.
3. I could go bikeriding with them.
4. I could take them swimming.
5. And this one was from Charisa, she’ll wear her Yankees shirt for one day (she cried the last time I made her wear it).
I told Shua that for her birthday, I’ll give her a coupon book as well. Here were her birthday coupons:
1. I would let her make me dinner.
2. She would let me spend a night out with the guys.
3. I would let her clean the whole house by herself.
Shua and I had a great laugh about it, however. It’s a wondrous thing to see the naivete of children and their enthusiasm for life. They see the world in such simple terms. I praise God for them and yes, even that birthday gift bounceback was still beautiful.
So if you see pictures of me riding bikes with the kids, going swimming, playng soccer, or yes, Charisa weraing a Yankees shirt and smiling (yes!!!), then you know I have just thoroughly enjoyed my 37th birthday present.
