What happens when the guest-blogger leaves?

UPDATE on 25 Aug - Our Lassen plans were changed. We’ll be headed there on Sunday and won’t return until Thursday. So probably the next entry here will be by Sam after he gets back. Thanks for dropping by during his absence - Tim
Probably not much, outside of the reader reading and maybe leaving a comment or two. All this to say that Sam won’t be back until the 30th and I am headed to Lassen National Park with Donna for 4 nights in the AM. Tomorrow starts our end of summer, before school road & air trip. After Lassen we are home for 4 days before flying to Montana. We get back from Montana for 5 days and then it is off to Oahu. When I become homebound the last week of September it will be to face the last two quarters of school and start studying for the NCLEX.
So feel free to read and digest some of Sam’s old stuff or check out Tim Challies and Bob Kauflin on the WorshipGod06 conference I’ve been chronicling. There’s some, um, lively discussion in the comments on challies.com. I’m scheduled to get back on the 28th, a couple of days before Sam does. See you then.
BTW: Anybody have church recommendations for Bozeman, MT, or Oahu?
- FREE MP3 and Bob Kauflin
- I Won a Free Christmas CD
- By Popular Demand - Part 1
- I’m honored …
- Governor Palin, my (latest) heroine.

Thanks for your guest-blogging, TimK…esp. with respect to the WG06. I wish I could have been there.
Since I’ve never been to any of the places you mentioned, I can’t give any recommendations, but I hope you and Donna have a restful, fruitful time of vacationing before you get serious about school again.
Blessings!
Linda, it has been a privilege. Thanks for your encouragement. One of the benefits in blogging about WG06 is that it forced me to think back through the conference in a more orderly fashion than I would be prone to. What was posted here was a subset of my impressions and observations. WG06 was a lifechanging experience for me!
We may try out an emerging church and a Vineyard when we travel. Exciting! But when it is all done, I look forward to getting back to WCCC …
2 great churches in Oahu: New Hope http://www.enewhope.org and First Presbyterian Church of Honolulu http://www.fpchawaii.org; depending on your theological and worship style preferences
djchuang: thanks for these recommendations. Could you provide some insight beyond what the website’s show? How casual are the services (in terms of dress)? When I think presby, I think at least business-casual even in Hawaii.
Thanks Sam!
DJ, I did check out New Hope when I was in Honolulu (in fact, I have a gift for Sam from there!). Thanks for the recommendation - it was quite an experience. After the 0700 service at New Hope, we hung aroung and then headed to the Honolulu Vineyard which was quite good.
TimK: Thrilled you got to worship at New Hope! (sorry, I wasn’t able to get back here in time to comment about my recommended churches, since I’d never been to them myself, but hear of their reputation.)
