Three Valleys

Many of the congregation of Wellspring Covenant Community Church enjoy living in the TriValley Area. The valleys comprising our locale are, I think, the Livermore, Amador, and San Ramon valleys. But there is another threesome of valleys that anyone anywhere can enjoy. They are the three Valley of Visions -

The original Valley of Vision is a book of prayers and mediations from mostly Puritans and their likeminded followers.
About a year or two ago Max McLean recorded the entrys from the book. McLean’s narration is available on CD and may be on MP3 as well.

Last week Sovereign Grace Ministries released a CD with a dozen of the Valley of Vision meditations set to music.
Which one to get? All of them, eventually, if you can! The book is one of my favorites. The narration is great for listening to while working out or driving. The SG compilation has gone to the top of the playlist at my house.
The softcover or leather-bound book as well as the 7-CD narration are available at either CVBBS or Monergismbooks. The song CD is currently only available at http://www.sovereigngracestore.com.

Tim, I spent a good portion of my night listening to each sound clip and reading all the lyrics to the Valley of Vision songs. I don’t know what happened, but I became truly broken last night and was reminded how proud I can become from time to time and how easily I can get deceived into thinking that I can live without God. I guess the deceiver crafts his plots and plants his seeds into thinking that we are self-sufficient and that we don’t need a Savior. But what a tragic lie!
Thanks. These songs really lifted me up and lifted my soul. They blessed me, reminded me, and reopened my heart into understanding how wretched I really am and how much I really do need a Savior.
I’ll talk to you in a bit bro.
Wow, Jimmy! Thanks for sharing that. I have had similar experiences reading/listening to/singing VoV. God has blessed us with these resources. The writers of VoV were so Scripture-drenched! I hope this stuff continues to bless you!
Any particular entry stand out for you?
