I’m honored …

… and that undeservedly, to fill in for Sam as he heads off for a well-deserved vacation. After I heard his itinerary, it seems to me that he may get more rest when he returns from vacation. Sam, may you, Shua, and the kids have a time of refreshment.
Sam’s kind introduction points to some interests and passions that we have in common, including similar tastes in books and writers (I remember Sam’s surprise when I told him that I read Gagging God by DA Carson, one of his seminary profs), sports fanaticsim (with me the Steelers and JoePa, with him the Yankees), and we’re both Civil War buffs (now that surprised me about him).
I’m blessed to have Sam as a pastor and friend. He has a genuine shepherd’s heart in caring for Wellspring Covenant Community Church. When I have been privileged to share lunch or breakfast with him, the time flies all too fast and the food seems to be an impediment to conversation. Sam has challenged me to consider what the Gospel means and how to live it out. He models making theology applicable to daily life like few I have met.
So Sam it is an honor to peck away at the keyboard in your absence.

Wow…finally, Tim! I hope that you will respond to my pseudo-tag of you (see comments section of “Tagged with Books” entry) for your list of books…
Yes, I do hope the Shin Family has a good vacation. I know that it’s going to be busy for them, but may it be restful in the Lord.
Heh heh, Hamster, I will respond to your tag. I’ve been waiting for a suitable forum. And here we have it … stay tuned.
