Pastor Sam,
I came across these two passages. The first one from Ephesians 3:19 “May you experience the love of Christ… Then you will be filled with the fullness of life and power that comes from God.” and the second from James 4:10 “When you bow down before the Lord and admit your dependence on Him, He will life you up and give you honor.”
The first passage reminds me Brian’s efforts in reaching out to his friends before his passing. I think to honor his efforts and preserve his memory, we should continually help those who want to seek him and pray for those who do not know Him.
The second is a reminder that the true honor of dwelling in the presence of our Lord and Savior, is one that we will all one day share, by accepting Christ into our lives.
hi sam. i hope things are well with you and your family. even though it was under these sad circumstances…im so glad to have met you, shua and your kids (they are soooooo cute!!!)… it makes me feel closer to brian. although we were only friends for a short period of time…he was truly one of my closest friends. even before i met you he always mentioned you, shua and the kids. he actually invited me on several occassions to your church because he wanted me to meet you but never got the chance too and i regret that…im so sorry for your loss…

Tim is right, I have been away. But I will grant you access shortly. Thanks for being Brian’s friend Tanya in a way that I know his family deeply appreciates!
Tim, my wccc.net email is not working for me here so I can’t check messages. Please email me at sa m s h i n ( a t ) gmail . c o m (sorry, need to make sure the spambot don’t get me).
Tim, a couple of things: first, as soon as I get a chance, I will read all of this in depth. Second, please consider co-blogging with me for good. Third, thanks for serving the community with your sharing. Finally, I went to CLC this past weekend. I heard Joshua speak. Always a great blessing to be there and I met one of the pastors there. Here is a SOv Grace tag line, “How can I serve you?” What blessed words.
Thank you brother!
I met Brian at Long Beach State in 2001. We had business calculus together. We started talking to each other when I asked him if he was from the Bay since he was wearing a Raiders shirt. After that we started talking more and I moved in to his apartment in Costa Mesa. I also met some other friends and family of Brian’s. I remember meeting Royce in 2001. I will always remember Brian as a very unselfish and great guy to be around. He always shared his meals or or shared his money with me even though he didn’t need to. Such a terrible loss. I’ll always remember that guy and I regret and not being able to keep in touch him these last few years. RIP, Brian.
